In 2021, Bulgaria is in 55th place in the world in furniture production for 600 million dollars, and a decade ago the factories sold goods for about 400 million dollars. Over 85% of their products are exported, which puts Bulgaria in 38th place in the world. If you look at furniture purchases, Bulgaria occupies 66th place in the world with nearly 420 million dollars for 2021, announced Prof. Dr. Vasil Zhivkov, Chairman of the Branch Chamber of the Woodworking and Furniture Industry. Exports are growing, but purchases of furniture made in Bulgaria are falling - at 41% of the market in 2015, their share will collapse to 16% in 2022, when furniture from the EU (43%), as well as from third countries, is most sought after (41%). Imports from countries outside the EU are set to jump from 21% in 2015 to 41% in 2022. A large proportion of purchases go through the five largest furniture chains. With a turnover of around half a billion BGN, more than half of the sales actually go through them. The leader in terms of revenue is the company "Yusk Bul", which manages the Danish chain of stores JYSK ("Yusk") and reports a nearly 38% jump in retail revenues, exceeding BGN 436 million for 2021. And for the financial year 2021-2022, which for the company starts from September 1, 2021 and ends on August 31, 2022, JYSK in Bulgaria reports a turnover of BGN 505 million and a profit of BGN 19 million. This is an increase in revenue by 31%. In second place in the top 5 with sales of nearly BGN 149 million in 2021 is the company "VG Global", ("Mebeli Videnov"), which has been called "Veleya Global" since the end of November. "House Market Bulgaria" (3rd place) - the Greek company that manages the franchise stores of the Swedish IKEA chain in the country, reports over BGN 132 million sales of home goods for 2021 (22% growth compared to the previous year ). Profit increased from BGN 5.4 million in 2019 to BGN 16 million in 2021, and revenue profitability was 12%.
