The revenues of IKEA (IKEA) in Bulgaria, as well as visitors to the chain's sites, have grown over the last 12 months for the period from September 2022 to August of the current year. Sales for the 2023 catalog exceed BGN 153.3 million, which is an increase of 22% compared to the 2022 catalog and 27% compared to 2021, announced the manager of the chain's Bulgarian office, Nikos Ifantidis. The number of visitors during this period is also growing, reaching 3.8 million in all sales channels against 3.4 million for the 2022 catalog. According to the company, the share of IKEA in Bulgaria in the home furnishing market is stable and remains within 10 % in value. IKEA has been in Bulgaria since September 2011 and already has two stores in Sofia, one in Varna, as well as two order centers - in Burgas and Plovdiv, and since 2015 it also sells online. By the end of 2023, IKEA intends to open a planning and procurement center in Veliko Tarnovo. This will be the sixth store of the Swedish furniture chain in the country. The new center will be located in the "Veliko Tarnovo" mall on an area of 1,800 square meters. The Bulgarian company "House Market" is part of the Greek group "Fourlis", which today manages a total of 20 IKEA stores (in Greece, Bulgaria and Cyprus) of different sizes and formats. "Besides the upcoming opening in Veliko Tarnovo, 3 more new IKEA stores in Greece are in the process of being designed or built, and the goal is to open them in the next one to three years," sums up Nikos Ifantidis.
