EWRC sanctions "Kozloduy NPP" with over BGN 604,000 due to transactions concluded in violation The State Energy Regulatory Commission (EWRC) adopted a decision imposing a property sanction in the amount of BGN 604,064 on Kozloduy NPP EAD. The reason for this is for unauthorized use (trading) of inside information. The company was sanctioned because of transactions concluded at the end of October 2021 and at the beginning of November 2021, in violation of the prohibition established in Art. 3 of Regulation (EU) No. 1227/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 October 2011 on the integrity and transparency of the wholesale energy trading market (REMIT). According to the legislation, a "property penalty is imposed in the amount of up to 10 percent of the total turnover for the previous financial year of this person. When there is no realized turnover, the property penalty is in the amount of BGN 10,000 to BGN 100,000".
